EF Gap Year (a division of EF Education First) is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and creative Content and Social Media Manager with loads of entrepreneurial spirit to join our Boston-based marketing team.

In this very hands-on role, you’ll be the go-to person for all things content and social media, helping to cultivate, curate, and craft the stories that help bring this amazing program to life.
Every day you’ll collaborate with the creative, marketing, sales, and advisor teams – as well as peers across the wider EF organization – finding new and innovative ways to build and grow a vibrant community of people who are passionate about the gap year experience, both online and in person.
You’ll monitor our social media spaces (and social media in general), helping to answer customer questions and build excitement around the gap year program.
You’ll work with our existing EF Gap Year students, helping them tell and share the stories of their year, as they travel and learn around the world – working to turn some of those students into ambassadors and supporting them as they take over our branded social media channels.
You’ll regularly brainstorm new content and engagement ideas with the team, turning those ideas into smart strategies and those smart strategies into actionable plans that you’ll then roll up your sleeves to execute.
And you’ll be the team’s point person for all things content in general – helping to regularly conceptualize and create compelling copy and content for use in promotional emails, sales materials, and the EF Gap Year website.

So, what will you do specifically?
Create and manage a content calendar that helps maximize the impact of our efforts across core social media channels
Support and encourage our gap students – helping them find new and exciting ways to capture and tell the story of their EF Gap experiences online
Help orchestrate social media takeovers – identifying, screening, and managing the students who will tell their stories through our branded channels
Conceptualize and create content that keeps prospective, current, and former students engaged and active in the EF Gap Year community
Own and manage our EF Gap Year social media channels: engaging the community, and responding to customer comments, questions, and needs
Drive the channel strategy and own the execution for our core brand social media channels, such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and others
Brainstorm new campaign and engagement ideas that will help drive interest in the EF Gap Year program
Regularly conceptualize, write, edit, and post content to the EF Gap Year website
Work with marketing partners to co-create advertorial and other relevant content
Maintain our presence and listings across directory and review sites
Work with the marketing team on various sales and marketing materials, such as promotional emails, brochures, and sales sheets
The ideal candidate will have:
3-5 Years of relevant experience in social media and content marketing
Legitimate, hands-on, practical experience managing brand social media presences
Experience creating compelling blog, social media, video, and other online content
A deep understanding of current gen-z cultural and digital trends
Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
A “can-do” attitude and a willingness to seek answers and push past obstacles
An ability to generate ideas and work independently
A desire to work in a small entrepreneurial team environment
Bonus points if you’ve done a Gap Year or long-term study-abroad program yourself!
