OVERALL POSITION DESCRIPTION The Director, Social Media & Influencer Marketing is a highly creative person with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate, particularly on Facebook and Instagram. The Director of Social Media & Influencer Marketing will have experience in developing robust, integrated social media strategies across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok in order to build the World Food Program USA brand in the United States, leverage its channels to build a significant digital micro and mid-level influencer cohort, and drive meaningful engagement. The Director, Social Media & Influencer Marketing will manage multiple priorities, demonstrate strong judgment and attention to detail, take ownership and be a team player with an ability to work with colleagues and executives from across the organization. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Strategically build brand awareness of Word Food Program USA among US audiences and drive strong growth of the follower base on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social platforms as they arise. Plan and own the development of strategic social media campaigns and their creative assets; drive growth of the organic revenue stream. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on revenue growth, audience growth and user engagement. Work with the digital advertising/marketing team to identify quick, creative and efficient ways to build, execute and measure innovative social media marketing plans that connect with supporters, maximize engagement and create significant social sharing. Manage and grow the CEO’s Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. Plan and produce a weekly social media calendar. Oversee the management of day-to-day messaging/posts that are on brand. Provide thought leadership, implement best-practices and track marketing performance to more effectively reach and engage with audiences. Lead the development and direct the implementation of a wide range of content forms, including video, text, images, gifs, animation, live action and other content forms that best utilize the technology available on any given social media/digital platform. Oversee World Food Program USA’s Social Media Ambassadors group, the Zero Hunger Champions Work in collaboration with the Director, Celebrity & Influencer Partnerships on social media influencer activations. Manage World Food Program USA event support and coverage across social channels, which may include live conversations, stories, live-tweeting, live blogging, etc. Work with the Development team to showcase partnerships and Policy team to highlight advocacy initiatives as appropriate across channels. Coordinate global campaigns with United Nations World Food Programme’s Social Media team in Rome, as well as with regional country offices. Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience in developing content, posting, building brand awareness and analyzing metrics on social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. At least two years of supervisory experience. Strong writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills on short deadlines, and able to effectively deal with competing priorities/deadlines. Experience with social media monitoring tools such as Salesforce Social Studio, Meltwater, Brandwatch, etc. Experience providing creative direction and developing scripts for multimedia assets such as videos, GIFs, social graphics, etc. Some of this direction will be provided to in-house staff and some will be provided to vendor partners. Director will be expected to lead on strategic framework. Past experience working with graphic design software to provide minor edits to animations, videos, social graphics, etc. Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Must be passionate about solving global hunger and be inspired by the prospect of growing the audience awareness of WFP USA.
