Job Description
Marketing Automation Manager Overview
Keypath is seeking a Marketing Automation Manager (MAM) to join our innovative, highly collaborative marketing team! This role provides a unique opportunity to leverage automation expertise and leadership skills to impact university partners and organizational success.
In this position, you will lead the automated marketing efforts within the organization. This includes both strategic and executionary work related to the planning, development, implementation, and analysis of automated marketing communications. The primary objective of this role is to improve student journey outcomes by engaging students at optimal points along the journey through the most effective channels, and aligning content and messaging in context with the student goals and interactions. A successful candidate for this role will be well-versed in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, automated technology best practices (email, text), and be a data-driven decision maker.
While this role lives in the Marketing function and reports into the Senior Director of Marketing Operations, a high degree of cross-functional work is expected, so excellent communication and prioritization skills are a must. The role will work closely with key stakeholders in marketing as well as, IT, Admissions, Student Success, and Student Experience to identify and deliver opportunities for improved performance and efficiency.
In addition, you’ll directly manage a Marketing Automation Specialist and an Email Specialist to help accomplish your goals. Experience with coaching, mentoring and/or managing and developing others will be important to the success of someone in this role.
What you’ll be doing as the Marketing Automation Manager
Develop and implement the marketing automation strategy for Keypath’s university portfolios to improve student lifetime value and elevate student engagement
Oversee the optimization of automated campaigns that drive improved performance and efficiency throughout each stage of the student journey, including A/B testing customer segments, content, design, and contact strategy
Establish measurement framework to spot trends and guide campaign effectiveness for all email, SMS and automation activity and report regularly on performance
Champion the marketing automation platform (SFMC) and provide technical support to marketing team
Engage and collaborate with Marketing and other functions to implement solutions that deliver a better end-to-end experience for the student, including dynamic workflows and “best in class” templates for email and text efforts
Effectively communicate strategy, new initiatives, and performance updates to key stakeholders across functions and levels
Be a custodian of the CRM, ensuring data accuracy and integrity is maintained
Address technical difficulties and implement processes to minimize errors and mitigate risk
Ensure data collection and marketing communications adhere to spam & privacy laws and implement controls to ensure the accurate execution and delivery of campaigns
Provide professional develop guidance and support for those directly reporting into this role (current Marketing Automation Specialist and Email Marketing Specialist)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Project Management or related field of study
Experience & Attributes:
5+ years as a marketer, with specific experience in a Marketing Automation role
Demonstrated success in (and passion for) building and managing high-performing teams, including coaching, mentoring and employee development
Proven hands-on experience building, implementing, and maintaining automated workflows
Experience creating and/or streamlining processes to improve operational efficiencies
Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate technical issues
Strong numerical reasoning and analytical capability, leveraging success metrics for actionable insights
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, entrepreneurial environment
Technical skills:
Advanced experience with marketing automation platforms, direct experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with using project management software (i.e. Monday.com, Teamwork, Asana, etc.).
Experience with using CRM software (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics).
Familiarity with Google Analytics, WordPress, Drupal, and HTML is an asset but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience in marketing in higher education or at an Online Program Management company is a plus
Advanced experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
