Job Description : General Summary
This position performs professional and administrative work creating and managing digital and print marketing through graphic design, various social media platforms, email communications, and website management. The incumbent works in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions to reach their target audience, increase customer interaction, and grow participation by creating customized and effective marketing campaigns.

Essential Functions
The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
Responsible for recreation department communication, marketing, and organizational activities, including standardizing and managing associated website pages, internal informational and promotional print, external informational and promotional print, and social media avenues.
Assists in developing and implementing the annual Recreation and Golf marketing plan.
Creates, implements, and monitors content and digital advertising on assigned social media platforms such as Google Adwords, Facebook/Instagram advertising, Twitter, etc.
Responsible for managing the production and distribution process of the Recreation Brochure 3 times per year.
Effectively and consistently brand recreation according to City guidelines.
Provide direction to Supervisors and Managers regarding timelines and deadlines for internal reporting processes.
Provide direction to Supervisors and Managers on strategy, direction, and content to maintain consistency and constantly improve presence on social media platforms.
Provide direction to Supervisors and Managers regarding marketing and communication standards.
Create flyers, advertisements, and other forms of communication for public display and various media applications; coordinate with vendors to develop marketing materials as needed.
Work closely with the Public Information Officer and the Communication team regarding Recreation marketing activities.
Attends the monthly Communications Team meetings.
Coordinates activities with other departments and agencies as needed. Responsible for effectively managing the workload to achieve departmental goals.
Compiles, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports, and recommendations; coordinates departmental activities with other departments as needed.
Assists in recommending and implementing modifications to systems, policies, and procedures. May conduct studies, analyses, and research on a wide variety of topics.
Keeps operational records and makes required reports.
Assists in the preparation of the department’s annual marketing budget. Assures that responsibilities are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures to ensure sound fiscal control.
Prepares purchase orders and processes invoices as assigned.
May assist in the design, preparation, development, and production of various graphic materials, including recreation activity guide, social media posts, digital newsletters, flyers, print, and digital posters, banners, advertisements, presentations, exhibits, collateral materials, and public outreach resources.
Manage department website pages by building new content and updating existing content to maintain accurate and current content.
Contribute content to city webpage updates to maintain accurate and current content.
Comply with communication standards as provided by the City Communications Director.
Submit events as necessary to local calendar outlets and organizations.
Produces and manages social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others.
Responsible for internal digital display marketing, including promotional, informational, and pricing menus at all recreation sites.
Coordinate communication amongst Recreation Division supervisors to maintain accuracy of website content and timeliness of communication.
Produce regular, bi-weekly communication for Rec Center members on both general and targeted information.
Attend and photograph recreation programs, activities, and events for archival purposes and use in graphic materials.
Maintain a current inventory of photographs for use in promotional materials within the Division and for the City.
Assist in the planning and implementation of special events and involvement in the day-to-day activities such as promotional mailings, community collaborations, business to business activities, data collection, internal and external marketing, and special projects.
Assist in developing timelines for the planning and implementation of Recreation Division initiatives which take into consideration the time to develop graphic materials.
Assembles information from sources, such as records or reports.
Establishes and maintains files for marketing materials.
Maintain a regular work schedule.
Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Typical Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE: Considerable knowledge of current practices, procedures, strategies, and communications techniques, marketing, branding, media relations, and community/public relations. Working knowledge of the principles of project and relationship management. Working knowledge of personal computers and software programs (word processing, spreadsheet, social media, Adobe, and database programs.) Ability to quickly learn new software programs, including RecTrac. Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of budgeting and resource management.
SKILL: Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities; work under pressure, and prioritize and adhere to deadlines, even under stressful or difficult situations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate on shared projects and files. Skill in understanding and responding to customer needs and resolving problems.
ABILITY: Ability to exercise considerable initiative and sound judgment; work effectively under tight deadlines; manage projects independently; ability to comprehend, develop, articulate, and implement conceptual ideas or strategies; coordinate and design promotional materials and interact with a broad range of people to accomplish assigned tasks and projects effectively. Ability to file all shared documents and organize and maintain shared project files. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team as a member and a leader.
TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, graphic design, or related field from an accredited college or university. Advanced training in Adobe Creative Suite and certification with Google Adwords preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least three years of professional experience in marketing, public relations, communications, website, and graphic design. Experience must include demonstrated understanding of marketing campaign creation and implementation. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Special Requirements
Colorado driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
