Job Category : Digital marketing Company Name: Saint Joseph’s University Position Name: Social Media Specialist Location : 5600 City Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131 Job Description : Social Media Specialist Open to: Internal and External Applicants Full-Time or Part-Time Status: Full-Time, 12 months Staff Job Type: Salaried/Exempt Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications The Social Media Specialist will support the content team in the development of organic social media campaigns, creation of news content and digital multimedia assets for SJU’s social media platforms. Additionally, this position will be responsible for auditing social media accounts across the institution and providing training to department-based account managers. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop engaging organic social media/editorial content, increasing follower growth and engagement with multiple audiences to further enrollment, reputation and philanthropic goals Manage regular postings on SJU’s social media platforms Stay current on emerging technologies, platforms and content trends Monitor social analytics/trends/activity on owned accounts in tandem with the content team to understand content performance Understand and manage relationships with third-party social media management software, Falcon.io Develop and present actionable monthly KPI reports and insights Identify and attend campus event opportunities for social media coverage Capture high-quality digital assets (photo and video) for use Oversee assignments and development of social media student workers Collaborate with other marketing and communications team members to ensure high-quality social media content and cross-functioning campaigns Working knowledge of social media-specific design principles Collaborate with other University departments to develop social media campaigns on behalf of larger annual events (i.e. Giving Days, Commencement, Welcome Week, etc.) Help monitor activity of University-affiliated social media accounts for proper branding and University procedures and offer guidance and training on best practices Serve as a regular member of the University’s content team, writing news and feature stories as assigned Secondary Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: The position may require long periods spent in front of a computer. In addition, weekend and after-hours work may be required.
