The Opportunity
Health eCareers, a property of Everyday Health Group, is looking for an experienced, innovative leader to oversee our marketing department and further cement our position as the top career resource in the country for physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses. Every year, thousands of health systems, hospitals, medical practices, and staffing agencies trust us to help them find the talent they need to increase access to care and meet their community’s health needs. As a result, the VP of Marketing will have the potential to positively impact a severe healthcare labor shortage and maldistribution problem, increase access to care, and accelerate our customers’ ability to meet their community’s health needs. This position reports to the Managing Director of Health eCareers.
As a member of the leadership team, the VP of Marketing will directly contribute to the company’s strategy, priorities, and culture. Through your leadership abilities, strategic mindset, and bias toward action, you will significantly impact the fulfillment of our mission and the achievement of our business objectives and key results.
The ideal candidate has a track record of success using an analytical, data-driven approach to testing new ideas, optimizing strategies and tactics, and delivering results both in B2B and B2C marketing. As a skilled leader, manager, and direct response digital marketer, you will be a player-coach seamlessly shifting between tactical execution, people management, and strategic vision. The ideal candidate will be an expert in either B2B and/or B2C marketing while also possessing the ability to deliver results in disciplines they might not be as expert in.
The VP of Marketing will oversee a team of marketing professionals in B2C, B2B, content, and design. You will evolve our marketing strategy and operations to continually improve applications per job, lead generation, and eCommerce revenue. Key Responsibilities
Oversee a team of 11 marketing professionals, including 9 direct reports, across b2c, b2b, content, design, and email
Maximize the strengths of your team and align their efforts to the company’s mission, vision, and priorities, while achieving or exceeding against goals
Leverage a balanced mix of organic and paid tactics to profitably maximize key metrics in both b2c (traffic, user registrations, email subscriptions, job applications) and b2b (MQL, SQL, bookings)
Partner closely with sales to align on strategic initiatives and quantifiable results needed to support revenue growth and customer retention
Collaborate with Product to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute strategies and tactics that optimize our user experience bringing greater efficiency to our conversion funnels and maximizing user engagement and revenue
Maximize the value of our network of medical society partners in collaboration with our Partnerships team, leveraging this channel to drive both user and customer metrics
Manage a multimillion dollar operating budget collaborating with Finance to forecast accurately and deliver your goals at or below budget
Serve on the leadership team helping to set strategy, business priorities, and a fulfilling company culture
Assist leadership team and corporate development with the assessment and integration of strategic partnership and acquisition opportunities
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four (4) year college. MBA or MHA from a top-tier university preferred.
10+ years related experience and/or training at a senior level in direct response digital marketing, preferably in recruitment marketing, digital media, and/or healthcare
At least 3-5 years of direct people management experience in digital marketing with a track record of attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining top talent
2+ years of experience working in performance marketing advertising models, preferably while partnering with advertising agencies
Exceptional track record of leading teams to collaborate cross-functionally and achieve or exceed goals
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority and across all departments
Ability to move smoothly and efficiently between “blue-sky” strategic discussions and tactical planning and execution
High-integrity servant leader with a balance of humility, candor, and optimism
Able to be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity
