Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families and adults we serve.Under the direct supervision of The Director of Public Affairs, the Marketing & Communications Associate will be responsible for the development of both print and digital marketing materials that support the overall mission and vision of the agency. The role will effectively maintain positive brand awareness across all digital platforms. The individual must be motivated, creative, a highly effective communicator, a positive team player, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job.Maintain and promote Metrocares brand as a thought-leader across the behavioral health, civic, and nonprofit sectors. This includes ensuring our online presence is consistent with our brand standards and messaging under the supervision of the Director of Public Affairs.Coordinate with all departments to identify, plan and design marketing collateral (both digital and print) including signage, event programs and marketing fliers for agency-wide and program specific promotion.Facilitate and build Metrocares social media presence through the promotion of events, community resources, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant Mental Health and Intellectual & Developmental Disability content.In collaboration with the Director of Public Affairs, execute the editorial calendar. Assist in the planning, curation, and creation of graphic elements, copywriting, and distribution of on-brand communications through website, social media, and e-communications.Maintain email distribution lists and monitor bounced emails.Support the Director of Public Affairs on key website analytics and social media metrics.Coordinate updates to Metrocares website.Provides backup support to the Director of Public Affairs on content creation and reporting.Organize and submit billing for all communication resources.Maintains confidentiality of information and cultural sensitivity across all work.Performs other duties as assigned.COMPETENCIES: The competencies listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the ethical standards of conduct, state contract, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal lawsAnalytical skills, professional acumen, business ethics, thorough understanding of continuous improvement processes, problem solving, respect for confidentiality, and excellent communication skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex thoughts and express ideas clearly and creatively.Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent relationships across all levels and roles within the organization.Solid knowledge of all relevant social media platforms.Graphic design ability in Adobe Create Suite (Illustrator and InDesign) preferred, basic knowledge of WordPress, and proficient in Microsoft Office, Constant Contact and Mail Chimp databases.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines.Communicates progress and completes projects in a timely manner with a consistent eye for improvement.Ability to handle multiple task and special projects simultaneously and independently.Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.Positive attitude that values excellence and a team environment.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.Advertising agency or marketing experience preferred.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills required.Ability to work with reports and numbers.Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.**REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.COMPUTER SKILLS: Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).Ability to utilize Internet for resources.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
