Job Description : Washington DC The Content Manager will report directly to the Senior Director, Content Development. This role is responsible for helping the UnidosUS Marketing and Communications (Marcomm) team to communicate our organization’s work and stories to our audiences, including English-dominant, bicultural, and Spanish-dominant audiences. The role requires a heavy emphasis on writing, project management, and content development for all of UnidosUS’s initiatives. By collaborating with fellow Marcomm team members and colleagues in other components, the Content Manager identifies and advises on the best approach to promoting UnidosUS activities through written content that is used on all of the organization’s communications channels, including social media, email marketing assets, blogs, websites, videos, campaigns, graphics, and internal communications. The position will be based in UnidosUS’s Washington, DC office or in a location with a UnidosUS office (Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, or San Antonio, TX). Bilingual proficiency (written/verbal) in Spanish and English is required for this role. The Manager reports directly to the Senior Director, Content Development. Responsibilities Manage current and upcoming writing projects in collaboration with the Marcomm team. Plan, write, and edit new and existing content in English and Spanish in support of the deliverables of the Marcomm team in support of the organization Collaborates on content creation with other teams within the Marketing and Communications component including Digital/Social Media, Events, Media Relations, and Editorial. Collaborate with the Design team to edit Spanish-language publications and help move along the publication life cycle as needed. Collaborate with the Digital/Social Media teams to create and translate English and Spanish-language content for the organization’s digital/social channels Create, edit and provide feedback on Spanish-language content across all UnidosUS’s communication channels. Attend meetings with UnidosUS components as necessary, to share ideas and deliver top line products and services. Develop and conduct training on writing and storytelling for UnidosUS staff and Affiliates. Collaborate with other members of the Marcomm team on daily content production. Support the creation of bilingual communications and marketing ideas, including but not limited to blog posts and web stories, news releases and press announcements, videos, Facebook Live, and social media content. Proactively develop and/or translate UnidosUS Marcomm resources such as talking points, message maps, social media toolkits, press statements, and publications Handle other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as: communications and marketing, advertising, Spanish languages, social responsibility, community development. Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. Proven networking, public relations, community relations, and communication skills. Strong project management skills. Gifted in written and oral communication with ability to represent UnidosUS to different audiences. Superior writing skills, with the ability to develop blogs, social media messaging, and visuals, and edit high-quality press materials, executive correspondence, and presentations. Bilingual (English/Spanish written and verbal) skills required. Skills and Abilities Steadfast commitment to UnidosUS mission, vision, and values of (Excellent, Accountability, Respeto). Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize among assignments, meet deadlines, and follow up; must be organized and have high attention to detail. High degree of creativity, vision, and resourcefulness. Ability to work independently as well as to contribute to team’s collective goals. Ability to keep colleagues updated on developing projects. Willingness and ability to travel. Experience managing social media platforms and/or web platforms (WordPress, Drupal, etc) preferred. Experience leveraging project management software such as Basecamp. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of Latino community-based organizations.
