As a member of the Corporate Marketing team, the Brand Content Solutions Specialist will help create content that allows us to reinforce a consistent brand identity that connects with our target audiences, drives engagement and encourages our customers to have a positive view of Commerce Bank. This role is responsible for managing some of the day-to-day aspects of telling the Commerce story, including copywriting, editing and proofing, content development and strategy, planning and message platform development. Essential Functions Create, monitor, and maintain brand content solutions backlog by writing and delivering compelling, high-impact content on a variety of topics, including topics such as financial education, community involvement, innovation, fraud prevention, teammate profiles, and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives Provide brand content advisory relationship management with moderate oversight from direct manager. Research, writing and editing skills will be applied to the entire editorial process to conceive, research, develop and create brand content pieces in multiple formats and across a variety of media, including website articles, social media posts, video content, web pages, internal communications, digital advertising, and promotional headlines and text Serve as brand content subject matter expert on assigned business unit scope to coordinate brand content planning efforts and recommendations. Collaborate and build strong working relationships with SMEs and senior leaders from departments across the bank footprint and interview them for insights on content topics in development Relationship management responsibility with cross-functional internal clients with minimal oversight. Effectively partner with internal and external marketing colleagues to produce content in go-to-market form, primarily working with the Brand Content Manager but also collaborating with the social media, public relations and digital marketing teams as well as other content strategists Cultivates and communicates key, actionable brand content solutions dashboard insights and metrics by contributing to the content strategy and planning process and identifying potential areas and insights for brand building opportunities Identify and coordinate continuous improvement for workflow processes. Help manage our content library and keep it fresh by identifying opportunities for updates and optimization of SEO, as well as researching new trends and insights to capitalize on Participate in brand reviews of others’ work to ensure it’s complying with both AP Style as well as Commerce Bank brand guidelines Produce reputation management and crisis communication (proactive and reactive communications). Serve as the primary representative for Brand Content Solutions in cross-functional project teams as needed Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering high-quality, engaging content solutions Intermediate to advanced creative writing or journalism experience, with the skills to adjust tone and message for specific audiences and diverse formats. Must be able to write in an approachable, non-jargon tone, aligning with Commerce Bank brand guidelines Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet timely deadlines. Excellent organizational, project management and communications skills to effectively collaborate with the Brand Solutions team, internal and external partners Ability to present your work compellingly, collaborate effectively with different types of people and personalities, and listen to feedback in order to improve Familiarity with copy editing and AP Style guidelines to help with brand content reviews. Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook that casts a positive shadow aligned with our culture and core values Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams Education and Experience BFA or BA degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing creative writing, or similarly-related field 5+ years professional experience in marketing, social media or related field.
