Job Description : | Digital, Web & Marketing CommunicationsJob Description – 30 Hour Hybrid Position (20 Hours Remote | 10 Hours Onsite)Job Summary Leads in setting the direction as well as the strategic implementation of all Digital Web Based internal and external communications to consistently articulate, enable, and fulfill the church’s mission and vision. Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDigital/Web Based Communications (5 – 10 Hours)Ensure church maintains an active presence on the web (e.g., style/presence, search engines, new technology)Compile timely announcements, articles, and graphics pertaining to the mission & ministries of Plantation UMC for inclusion and distribution in the weekly digital newsletter “E-News”Manage ongoing social media communication strategies on all platformsUpdate church website each week with relevant information, and keep website and social media “sticky”; creatively building followers and encouraging organic distribution of informationCreate quarterly “Living Spirit” newsletter in collaboration with Print Publications Position, in consultation with pastors and ministry leaders, upload/distribute to all digital media platforms.Oversee website maintenance and developmentWorship & Special Event Communications (5 – 10 Hours)Collaborate with Print Publications toMaintain schedule of written/verbal announcements for worship services & other special church eventsCreate worship slideshow, choosing backgrounds, and ensuring the presentation is accurate and smoothSource/create/edit videos for use in worship services (e.g., style/presence, search engines, new technology)Set up Livestream Worship Links on all platformsCatalog and Archive all Video’s on all platformsMarketing (5 Hours)Research, develop, and publish Marketing Materials for the church’s missions & ministries.Develop a marketing strategy to promote Plantation UMC in our Community (e.g., Chamber of Commerce)General/Miscellaneous Communications (5 Hours)Collaborate with Print Publications toDesign original graphics for upcoming sermon series, events, and other offeringsDevelop system to organize and prioritize communication strategies to market, inform, and promote ministry and mission of the churchDevelop and coordinate a Digital Arts Team (enlisting, equipping, and encouraging qualified volunteers, such as artists, designers, photographers, videographers, writers, proofreaders, etc.)Contribute to Worship Planning Team to brainstorm future creative ideas and to track communications needsSpecial projects, as assigned by Senior PastorPlease be advised that the above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal responsibilities of the job identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that are inherent to the position, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
