GSK is looking for a US Digital Director to lead its fast-paced digital communications team at the corporate level.The person in this role will lead the digital strategy in the US and partner with business and global communications colleagues and agencies to plan, co-create, edit and publish brilliant digital content across our channels. We’re working hard to be more audience-focused; to streamline our content; and to improve our reach using metrics, paid content, strategic approach and effective storytelling. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Key responsibilities:Develop a digital strategy that brings GSK’s narrative, business, people and values to life with external audiences, constantly growing and engaging with the online community of patients, HCPs, advocacy groups, media, investors, and employeesPartner with US Communications colleagues from our US business units (Vaccines, Respiratory, Oncology, Specialty), R&D, and global corporate groups to plan, co-create (at times), edit and publish strategically aligned content to our corporate external channelsLead the US content editorial calendar and partner on the global corporate content calendar; support strong prioritization of content; and deliver campaigns with maximum impact and across all target audiencesResponsible for the quality, consistency and engagement of digital content from designated partners and within GSK’s social media channelsWork with colleagues in paid social media activity to amplify organic activity and to grow the audience on social media Operate social media publishing and management platform, SprinklrOwn and lead on the web strategy and its integration with social media, creating and publishing content in line with milestones and stories using Umbraco Metrics:Set and track targets and benchmarks for all channels, content areas and campaigns and monitor and report back insights, issues and recommendationsPerform daily monitoring of social media conversation to identify opportunities for sharing as well as any potential issues-managementEnsures content is user-driven, takes account of best practice and continually improves engagement levels (we don’t work with a team to do this, we do it on our own) Digital policy & compliance:Manage social media crisis and issues management, developing external corporate statements in partnership with GSK leadership and proactive crisis protocolsDevelop social media governance and policy documents, partnering with Legal and Compliance when necessary Outreach:Gather and share best practices and oversee digital capability building across GSKChampion working with influencers and community advocates to improve the reach and impact of GSK’s contentPartner with Global Digital Director to ensure US initiatives are shared on global channels and vice versa; stay closely aligned on the channels and editorial; and ensure synergies where possibleEstablish and maintain a network of peers and understanding of external best practice Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor’s degree At least 8 years’ experience in communications, digital communications or marketing roles. Experience in producing content for external audiences through digital channels Direct knowledge of external digital channels (both web and social media) and how they can be leveraged to deliver content strategy Experience creating on-brand and high quality visual content (eg. Photography, Twitter cards) and or moving image for use on social media channels Knowledge of website publishing and management Experience in people management of a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Significant experience in creation of content strategy and executional calendars for corporate activity First class writing, editing and visual storytelling skills for digital Experience managing corporate social media channels and presence, including through platforms such as Sprinklr Understanding of the power of imagery and video for digital storytelling and working knowledge of the process for creating this kind of content Knowledge and experience in analyzing social media metrics and applying digital insights to set targets for and constantly improve content and campaigns Knowledge and experience in executing paid/sponsored campaigns Budget management.
