Overview:
The Director of Corporate Marketing will have the extraordinary opportunity and responsibility to promote, develop, elevate and protect the iconic brand of a global market leader. The Director will leverage a small direct staff, in addition to working collaboratively with marketing personnel embedded within strategic business units (SBUs), to promote Rain Bird across the multiple markets the company serves, including landscape, golf, agriculture and DIY homeowners. The Director will also advance the communication of Rain Bird’s long-standing commitment to The Intelligent Use of Water™.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of current marketing methods and approaches, as well as a track record of successfully managing and enhancing the corporate marketing effort for a well-known brand. He or she will also have demonstrated the ability to work in a matrix environment, using influencing skills to support and coordinate the needs of multiple business units.
Responsibilities:
Develop a 3-year brand development strategy for the Rain Bird masterbrand with the objective of ensuring that Rain Bird continues to be the global leader in irrigation.
Create alignment within and across SBU’s to share best practices and ensure brand consistency for campaigns and events.
Lead integrated marketing planning process to guide the development and execution of brand strategy and tactics across agency partners and media channels.
Identify agencies with the appropriate experience and talent needed to develop and accelerate Rain Bird brand communications across all touchpoints including, but not limited to: print, digital, social, radio and online video.
Be the Rain Bird Brand Champion.
Own and elevate the brand’s digital marketing presence including: Website, Social Media, and Influencer / Partner Marketing.
Oversee the Rain Bird Corporate Marketing calendar.
Lead PR strategy development and execution to maximize brand visibility.
Lead the development of a corporate social media strategy and process that takes into account the needs of all SBU’s and foreign subsidiaries.
Pioneer influencer and partner marketing at Rain Bird.
Prepare and conduct training with marketing, engineering and others regarding Rain Bird’s branding, positioning and messaging platforms and tools.
Develop and report on marketing KPIs for all major marketing initiatives; demonstrate the ROI for the marketing spend.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree, with 8 to 10 years of experience leading a marketing organization.
Demonstrated ability to develop and drive branding and marketing strategies for a well-known brand.
Experience managing digital marketing, including website, social media platforms, and digital asset management tools.
Demonstrated success generating results in an environment with multiple clients.
Experience managing external advertising agencies and other marketing vendors, including preparing calendars and budgets.
Demonstrated ability to build and develop a team of direct reports.
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic and creative.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
MBA with an emphasis in marketing.
International business experience.
An understanding of the irrigation markets, products and practices.
Fluency in one or more languages in addition to English.
