Job Description : | Job Summary This role is responsible for advancing email marketing and automation and leading those efforts for several of Assurant’s lines of business. Part strategist, part leader and manager and part hands-on tactician, this person will lead the overall strategic and creative direction of email marketing and automation, lead and execute the HTML development of email campaigns, manage and onboard automation technology, build integrated automations to deliver best-in-class email experiences. The manager of email marketing and automation will continually work with LOB Marketing and sales leaders and leverage data and insights to further improve email acquisition, segmentation, personalization, prospect and lead-scoring practices and automation tactics. This individual will also be responsible with managing email marketing specialists (1 or more) and overseeing their day to day responsibilities and individual growth within Assurant. Alongside their direct report(s) they are responsible for growing and progressing email as a center of excellence at Assurant. Job Responsibilities Strategy – Email & Automation – 35% Develop strategic, integrated email marketing & automation plans that align with the organizational goals and LOB goals, with decisions and oversight over cadence, frequency, content types, creative direction and KPIs/analytics Evolve email and automation at Assurant beyond it’s current state – incorporating sales enablement initiatives, lead scoring and grading, lead management and routing, complex journeys and more into the mix. Responsible for building the email and email automation roadmap and executing against it Focus on longer term projects such as building A.com preference center and other strategic initiatives that will advance the email and automation practice at Assurant Email Execution & Design – 25% Create custom email designs with a mobile-first mentality using Photoshop (or similar tool) that align with brand guidelines and meet the needs of the request, while adhering to email best practices, UX/UI design best practices, and following all CANSPAM and GDPR legal compliance guidelines Code/Develop & Quality Test all email designs via HTML front-end coding with a mobile-friendly and mobile-responsive techniques, and ensuring all emails render flawlessly using Litmus (or similar tool) in all major internet service provider variations Setup for all email deployments including: list creation, data cleansing, data hygiene, CRM campaign creation, building out various audience segmentations, creating SEED lists, and scheduling the deployment. CRM & Automation Platform Integration, Management & Enhancements – 25% Partner with CRM subject matter experts to develop necessary information and capabilities to drive automated campaigns that map to target audience user journeys. Manage list segmentation and develop segmentation strategies to improve metrics and to ensure that key marketing messages are delivered to, and received by, targeted audiences, including clients and consumers. Work with CRM and sales partners to develop processes for ongoing data hygiene Team with sales leads by each LOB and identify ABM Marketing Approaches that will advance relationships with prospective clients. Work cross enterprise with teams to evaluate current automation and CRM technologies, understand the technology needs of the future, and develop a roadmap for how to utilize technology to meet the goals of the LOBs Continuously learn about and get certifications from various tools we use (Pardot, SFMC, Sales Cloud, etc.) Manage 2 Enterprise Email Platforms with Admin rights that involve creating new users, platform training & onboarding, data management, platform organizational structure, gated users, user permissions, third party agency training, content purging, IP Address Monitoring, and keeping a pulse on overall platform and email channel health. Management & Leadership – 15% Manage day to day responsibilities of direct report(s), help them prioritize work and work with them to progress email at Assurant. Support growth and learning of direct report(s) through coaching, training, and day to day guidance. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Email Marketing or Business Administration 6+ years email marketing experience (B2B or B2C) with ownership of email best practices, database hygiene, segmentation strategies, customer journey building and automations 4+ years of experience working with marketing automation platforms (SFMC, Pardot, Eloqua, etc.) 4+ years of experience working with Salesforce Salescloud 4+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, SQL, Ampscript and Javascript Desired Skills & Experience Agency experience B2B email marketing experience Salesforce certifications Experience with Google Analytics and/or other analytics platforms Knowledge of CMS systems 3+ Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite of products, such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver is a plus Strong experience influencing a highly matrixed environment while building cross-functional relationships Strong written, verbal & communication skills required Superior project management & organizational skills required Basic understanding of Photoshop, including image slicing, editing text, exporting PSD as PDF, etc. Basic understanding of HTML front-end development. Ability to handwrite HTML code based on Photoshop file preferred. Advanced ability to code responsively, and knowledge of AMPscript, JS, JQuery is all a plus Basic understanding of list segmentation and audience personalization is preferred. Creating filters, CRM Campaigns, assigning contacts as leads, creating SQL queries is all a plus Ability to create and manage a complex, multistep automated campaign journey Comprehensive understanding of how to leverage CRM data in an email program preferred |
