Job Description : This position serves in the role of Academic Personnel and Executive Search Specialist (Specialist) and will report to the Director of Executive Talent Management (Director), which is responsible for managing and supporting executive-level searches for Vice Chancellors, Deans and other specialized executive positions as assigned. The Specialist requires a high level of technical knowledge and independent decision making as the position serves as the primary consultant on all recruitment, orientation and onboarding matters for each executive search. This position works with the search firm and search committee to secure a diverse and highly qualified candidate pool. The Specialist provides HR guidance, interpretation and application of employment policies. The Specialist will provide direct support to executive search committees and chairs in the planning, posting, CV evaluation, candidate screening, and finalist interviewing processes related to executive searches. The position initiates and manages personnel actions, including position creation and update, recruitment through PeopleAdmin, initiation of background checks and new employment actions. The position will engage in and manage working relationships with external executive search providers, and will support the Director in their role as active partner with the Chancellor, Provost, Executive Vice Provost, Assistant Provosts and other senior leaders in assisting in the development and execution of a variety of leadership development and talent management programs that are designed to strengthen leadership capacity and retention. The Specialist will also provide support to the Director in their responsibility of having primary oversight of the execution of reviews for senior academic administrator positions, including center/institute directors, deans and other executive leadership positions. The function of this position will involve coordination and cooperation with the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and the Office of Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
