Some weekends, evenings and special events required.POSITION SUMMARYThe Marketing & Communications Manager creates, implements, and oversees KidsQuest Children’sMuseum’s external marketing to effectively promote the organization, its mission, programmatic offerings, and role as a community asset. This position works closely with all departments to develop and implement strategic marketing plans and promotional efforts, demonstrating a cohesive organizational voice. TheMarketing & Communications Manager communicates the Museum’s efforts in accessibility and ensures our relevancy to all populations served while seeking out new audiences. This position oversees the DigitalMarketing Manager and works with all marketing contractors and vendors to plan and execute theMuseum’s advertising and marketing efforts, media and public relations initiatives, and content creation and dissemination. The Marketing & Communications Manager reports to the Director of Development and collaborates to create strategies that successfully meet revenue, reach, and audience development goals.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Communications Through constant collaboration with all departments, gain deep institutional understanding to leverage KidsQuest’s visitor experience focus, educational philosophy, and fundraising approaches to advance organizational growth.Utilize relevant marketing principles and tactics that effectively align with the strategic goals of the organization. Execute and monitor branding and marketing initiatives that diversify audiences and their engagement.Uphold the voice and influence of KidsQuest by promoting a positive public image through the dissemination of information on the organization’s behalf. Ensure proper use of brand identity and style guide in all communications.Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews and statements; write and submit press releases.Manage rapid response communications.Along with the Digital Marketing Manager, coordinate with all departments to determine and oversee appropriate communication frequency and messaging. Maintain efficient internal processes and procedures related to marketing and communications requests and fulfillment; keep accurate contact lists for target audiences.In collaboration with other departments and the contracted Graphic Designer, oversee the publication and distribution of print materials such as program advertisements, brochures, and print pieces for special events.Working with the Digital Marketing Manager, oversee the content, maintenance, and analytics of the organization’s website.AdvertisingManage KidsQuest’s external advertising purchases, develop and manage vendor relationships, and seek new opportunities.Strategize with contracted Graphic Designer to ensure high-quality visual content.Leadership Develop and execute an annual marketing and communications plan to advance KidsQuest’s brand, programming, service, and development goals. Build upon communications strategies and campaigns to target wider audiences and increase museum attendance.Work closely with the leadership team to craft strategic messaging, measure, and evaluate progress, manage rapid response communications, and strengthen the organization’s constituent base.In collaboration with the Director of Development, develop and maintain the organization’s marketing budget.Supervise the Digital Marketing Manager and collaborate to implement proactive, timely, and relevant media tactics. Encourage an environment that is welcoming and supportive of life-long learning. Share opportunities for professional development.Remain informed of industry trends through seminars, reading materials, and relationships with leaders in the field. Keep staff informed of marketing strategies, efforts, trends, and results.Contribute to organizational goals and vision as needed.Demonstrate the organization’s values and seek to be constantly improving the breadth of our reach, particularly to diverse populations.Full-hearted participant in ongoing Race and Social Justice training.Ensure an organized archive of photographs, video content, publications, and communications.Perform other related duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual applicants strongly preferredMinimum 5 years of marketing and communications experience required; management experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Platform and Adobe Creative Cloud requiredExpert writing and editing skillsAbility to use written and verbal communication effectively with a wide variety of individuals including donors, corporate representatives, teens, children, and parentsExperience working on a small team preferredAbility to meet deadlines, work under tight schedules, and balance competing prioritiesAble to work both independently and in cross-functional teams to creatively solve problemsFriendly and outgoing personalityDetail oriented and extremely reliableTo serve the best interest of Museum patrons, KidsQuest Children’s Museum will: Conduct a criminal background check on all employeesRequire proof of immunizations within thirty days of employmentCOVID-19 Information All KQCM employees are required to be fully vaccinated as well as expected to comply with current internal, local, state, and federal guidelines for maintaining safe workplaces and reducing the spread of infectious diseases.
