Job Description : | The DK Marketing and PR Department seeks a Marketing Assistant or Coordinator – Education and Library to join their dynamic team. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager – Education and Library, and will assist in the planning and execution of materials and campaigns for PreK-12 teachers and administrators, college professors, and librarians of all types, including but not limited to advertising, newsletters, and events. This position also provides the opportunity to interface with the entire DK US PR and Marketing team, as well as sales, marketing, publishing, and operations colleagues across the global DK and Penguin Random House organizations. Responsibilities include: Ownership of processes that help determine the appropriate reading level (Lexile and Fountas & Pinnell) for frontlist and backlist book titles, including but not limited to submission of manuscripts and tracking of results Major support with the creation of assets for and implementation of campaigns across the school and library space, including but not limited to advertising, newsletters, and events Collaboration with digital marketing and publicity team members to ensure cohesive plans and messaging, and with UK education marketing as appropriate With support from the Senior Marketing Manager, coordination with the UK-based education team on materials related to the launch and development of the DK Learning initiative Coordination of trade show and event materials and assistance with follow-up marketing. Travel to select trade shows a few times a year Coordination and distribution of sales materials specific to education and library needs Assistance on upkeep of web platform tasks, including Penguin Random House Education title tagging, DK Learning resource uploads and title tagging, and Kahoot! quiz review and Americanization Requirements/Qualifications: 0-1 years of experience in book marketing, 1+ years experience to be considered at the Coordinator level Interest in the education and library sectors Excellent writing and communication skills, with emphasis on being detail-oriented Self-motivated with a desire to be a team player as well as work independently Highly organized with an ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and meet deadlines Strong sense of urgency with an ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and ability to think on your feet and address unexpected challenges Creative thinker who enjoys thinking outside of the box Please note: Travel to select trade shows within the US a few times a year is required.
