Job Summary
As the Marketing Manager you will direclty oversee Marketing staff, along with the Digital Marketing and Graphic Design departments. You will develop strategies, merchandising pieces, contests, promotions, products and partnerships to build brand awareness and increase Lottery sales. Responsibilities will include:
Management, hiring and supervision of employees; analysis, research and planning to allocate the unit’s budget;
Concepting and printing of all retail merchandising pieces, acquisition and allocation of premium items; development and execution of statewide consumer programs and contests;
Managing sponsorship negotiations and event activation;
Developing brand guidelines and strategies, promoting an integrated marketing approach and communication strategy, developing media partnerships and media events;
Seeking out and creating promotional partnerships and scratch product development with Minnesota businesses, state agencies and entertainment properties;
Manage partnership and content with the advertising agency in the creation of advertising concepts, materials, campaigns, events and media buying.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related degree
AND
Five (5) years or more of professional level work experience leading a marketing, advertising, or event management program/department
AND
One (1) year or more of supervisory OR lead worker experience sufficient to plan, manage, and direct the work of staff, assign tasks, establish priorities, receive feedback, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sports/gaming/entertainment industry
Knowledge and experience integrating social media, website, and Customer Relationship Management tools into marketing campaigns
Previous experience working within a state, local, or federal government
Demonstrated evidence of working in or with diverse populations
Experience creating metrics to analyze promotional and marketing strategies success
Strong organizational, leadership, and planning skills, to develop and implement long-range operational plans and short-range work plans simultaneously
Demonstrated experience negotiating deals with promotional partners or entertainment vendors to insure fiscal resources are maintained
Ability to communicate strategic plans, promotional partnerships in a presentational manner to a large audience
Physical Requirements
Some lifting, standing, and bending when working or setting up events, or moving promotional materials.
