Job Description : KaTom Restaurant Supply, Inc.Manager, Product Content Job DescriptionDescription Summary: With a company priority of producing original content for the products on KaTom.com, the product content team is crucial to KaTom’s mission and continued growth. The product content manager guides and directs the work of the members of that team, handling everything from workflows to hiring. The incumbent will work with others in the department and teams throughout the company to ensure KaTom’s product listings are well presented for customers and search engine crawlers. Because of the volume of products we offer online, this is a high-demand position that requires a keen eye for detail in style, structure, and technical information.Responsibilities· Produce an average of 48 product descriptions per week without sacrificing quality· Complete tasks assigned through project management system within deadlines· Write using professional and readable style· Participate in peer editing process with other members of the product content team· Apply AP Stylebook and house style guide precepts and SEO best practices in crafting content· Actively participate in regular on-site and rare off-site, multi-day trainings, engaging in conversations and taking notes· Use available resources – company experts, industry resources, and vendor websites – to gain understanding of products and categories as needed· Contribute to ongoing development and updating of house style guide· Collaborate closely with managers of longform and editorial teams and content director· Work intensively in Microsoft Office suiteTrain new hires and coach team members as needed, logging both positive and corrective interactions in company HRIS system· Identify opportunities for workflow optimization and work with content director to implement them· Assist with special projects and identifying content opportunities· Delegate work to other writers as necessary and manage their contributions· Serve as go-to contact for product content issues and questions and participate in departmental discussions of content· Approve timesheets and time-off requests for direct reports and correct time punches when necessary· Serve as primary coordinator for product content team, maintaining lists of products from which writers work· Attend SEO and content strategy meetings with other departmental leadership and relay content direction changes and strategies to team· Ensure team has an open line of communication to leadership for concerns, complaints, and suggestions· Requires regular and predictable attendance· All other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills & abilities)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables· Other Qualifications: Willingness to perform any required task within the employee’s capabilities in order to effectively meet the needs of the company.
