As we are often reminded, women have a better chance of living to be 100 than men – in fact, 82% of the 53,364 centenarians alive in 2010 were women. The ratio of women to men at the age of 100 remains fairly stable. That’s why you hear the statistic that eighty percent of men die married, while eighty percent of WOMEN… die alone. The big problem for women is that after the death of their husbands, they can remain on their own for ten years or more – at a time when they may not want to worry about investing. It has been found that the biggest financial fear of the baby boomers is running out of money while they are still in their 80s and then dying into their 90s as the government robs Social Security. We’ll see today if that fear is justified, and then health insurance expert SHELLEY GRANDIDGE joins us. A current show you don’t want to miss, MASTERING MONEY is on the air!!
